Opening of Springston School's new Modern Learning Classrooms

If you couldn't be there, you might like to see part of the official welcome, and then the full opening ceremony for Springston's new modern classrooms by Prime Minister, John Key. There was also a big article about the visit in the Saturday 19 April edition of The Press (page A14 of the print edition, including a great photo showing some of the hilarity that occurred just before the ribbon-cutting).

John Key's visit to Springston's Secret Garden

John Key visited the Secret Garden and talked to a few students about their garden. He talked to them about why they like having their own garden.

People talked to him about worm pee and how it helps the garden - we gave him  a bottle of worm pee. He had a piece of lettuce and talked to special visitors who help and try very hard to support the Secret Garden.

John Key opened our new modern learning environments on 17 April 2014, and after visiting our Secret Garden and seeing the Daily 5 Reading Programme in action in Room 4, he still had time for some quick questions on Leadership from three of our senior students.
